Privacy Policy for Exchango - Live Currency Rates

1. Information Collection and Use

A. Personal Information

We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, phone number, or payment details). You do not need to create an account or provide any personal details to use Exchango.

B. Location Information

Exchango does NOT access, collect, track, or use your GPS or device location information.

C. Locally Stored Data

All your customized settings and preferences are stored strictly on your device (using local on device database storage). This includes:

• Your chosen Dashboard currency pairs
• Your configured Pop up Alerts and reminder times
• Selected Home & Target currencies
• App theme and sync interval preferences
• Cached currency exchange rates for offline access

(This data never leaves your device and is not uploaded to external servers.)

D. Third Party Advertising Data

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements within the App. The Google AdMob SDK may automatically collect and process certain non sensitive data to serve contextual or personalized ads, measure ad performance, and detect invalid clicks. This data includes:

• Advertising ID (Android Advertising ID / GAID)
• IP address and general coarse location inferred from IP
• Device specifications (model, OS version, screen size)
• App interaction and diagnostic logs (ad impressions, clicks, crash reports)

2. Device Permissions and Why We Need Them

To provide its core features, Exchango requests the following permissions:

• Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Required to display Pop up Alerts on your screen at your scheduled date and time, ensuring you see critical rate reminders even when you are using other applications or on the home screen.
• Internet & Network State (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Used to fetch live exchange rate data from ExchangeRate-API and serve advertisements via Google AdMob.
• Post Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Required on Android 13+ to send you notifications for your scheduled currency alerts and background update summaries.
• Boot Receiver ( RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Allows the app to schedule rate reminders and re-register your active alerts if your phone is restarted.
• Vibration (VIBRATE): Used to provide haptic feedback when alerts trigger (if enabled in your app settings).

3. Third Party Services & Advertising Partners

The App integrates the following third party services:

ExchangeRate-API: Used solely to fetch real time and historical currency exchange rates. Requests sent to the API do not include any personal user information. You can review their privacy practices at ExchangeRate-API Privacy Policy.

Google AdMob: Used to serve advertisements. Google's use of advertising data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Opting Out of Personalized Ads: You can manage or opt out of personalized ad targeting at any time on your Android device by going to: Settings > Google > Ads > Delete Advertising ID (or reset Advertising ID).

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Because all your data (alerts, favorites, and cached rates) is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

• You can delete individual alerts or change currency pairs anytime within the app.
• Clearing the app data in your phone's Android Settings or uninstalling the app permanently deletes all stored preferences and cached records.

5. Children's Privacy

Exchango does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The application is a general utility financial calculator and currency lookup tool safe for all audiences.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
